My Commitment
I want this website to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. I build it with accessibility in mind and keep improving it as I find problems.
Standard I Aim For
I aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. No site is perfect, so I can't promise full compliance, but I treat any barrier I find as something to fix.
What I've Done
- Semantic HTML, with a clear heading structure and landmarks.
- A "Skip to main content" link for keyboard users.
- Visible focus indicators on links, buttons, and interactive elements.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images.
- Colour contrast chosen for readability, and colour is not the only way information is shown.
- A responsive layout that works on phones, tablets, and desktops.
- Reduced or disabled animation for visitors who have "reduce motion" turned on in their device settings.
- Form fields with visible labels on the contact page.
Third-Party Services
Form submissions are handled by Cloudflare and Resend, and I use Umami for anonymous analytics. I can't control the accessibility of third-party services, but I choose ones that don't get in the way of the page.
Known Limitations
I haven't found any major issues, but I haven't had the site audited by an external accessibility specialist. If you find something that doesn't work for you, please tell me.
Feedback and Contact
If you have trouble using any part of this site, or have a suggestion, you can reach me through the contact page or at Email me. Tell me which page you were on and what went wrong, and I'll do my best to fix it or offer the information another way.
Ongoing Work
Accessibility isn't a one-off task. I review the site when I make changes and keep an eye on updates to the guidelines.
